Travelling Light Series V : Book 21 Imam al-Ghazali's Revival of : the Religious Sciences, with Shaykh Hamza Yusuf

Shaykh Hamza Yusuf was born in California, and studied in Mauretania, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia. He is co-founder of the Zaytuna College, America’s leading institution of Islamic learning. His books and translations include The Purification of the Heart (2004), The Content of Character (2004), andWalking on Water (2010). He has been frequently voted the most influential Islamic thinker in the West.

Tekke of Karabas-i Veli, Bursa

The lectures are given in the Anatolian city of Bursa, in the historic Tekke of Karabas-i Veli. Built in 1550, the Tekke was one of four tekkes belonging to the Mevlevi Order in Bursa until 1925, when it was turned to secular use. Recently restored, it is a centre for Islamic arts, music, and conferences. The complex includes reception rooms, a large garden, a graveyard, and a small museum.

Bursa Türk Musigi Toplulugu

The songs, known as ilahis, are performed by Bursa’s most popular group of religious singers, the Bursa Türk Musigi Toplulugu (Bursa Turkish Music Ensemble).
