Alan Jones is the author of Early Arabic Poetry, The Jaysh Al-Tawshih of Lisan Al-Din Ibn Al-Khatib, and Romance in Kharjas in Andalusian Arabic Muwassah Poetry. He is a professor emeritus of classical Arabic at Oxford University. Prof Alan Jones has taught Arabic for many years at Oxford and is well-known both for his knowledge of the Arabic language and for his work on the Qur’an.
