About
Muhammad b. Sulayman al-Jazuli (d. 869 AH / 1465 CE) rahimahullah was a Moroccan scholar, Sufi master, and one of the most influential figures in the spiritual revival of Morocco during the ninth Islamic century. He belonged to the Jazula Berber tribe of the Sus region of southern Morocco and pursued his education in Fez before undertaking travels for study and spiritual formation. He was a master of the Shadhili Sufi path and founded the Jazuliyya sub-order, which played a significant role in the spread of Islamic devotional practice across North and West Africa. He is universally known as the author of Dalail ul Khayrat, a compilation of prayers and invocations of blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ that has remained among the most beloved and widely recited devotional texts throughout the Muslim world for over five centuries.
