About
Al-Quda'i (d. 454 AH/1062 CE), rahimahullah, was a prominent Sunni jurist and scholar of hadith and history who served as a senior government official under the Fatimid dynasty in Cairo. Despite working within a Fatimid political context, he maintained his commitment to Sunni scholarship. He is known for A Treasury of Virtues, a classical compilation of sayings, sermons, and teachings attributed to 'Ali ibn Abi Talib radiyallahu anhu, preserved in the work known as the Dustur Ma'alim al-Hikam. His career exemplifies the complex interplay of scholarship and statecraft in medieval Islamic civilization.
