About
Aliya Vaughan is a British author of Islamic children's fiction, best known for the Sulaiman series published by Kube Publishing. An English convert to Islam, she lives in the United Kingdom with her husband and children, and came to writing for young readers while home-schooling her own family. Her storytelling was recognized early in life, and she later received honors at the Muslim Writers Awards for her children's fiction. The Sulaiman series, aimed at readers aged roughly seven to eleven, follows a young Muslim boy through ordinary moments that quietly carry deep lessons. Titles include A Race to Prayer: Sulaiman's Rewarding Day, on the value of salah; Turning Back to Allah: Sulaiman's Caving Calamity, on sincere repentance; Learning to Deal with Loss: Sulaiman and the Tides of Change, on grief after the death of a grandparent; Wrestling Against Anger: Sulaiman's Challenging Neighbour, on patience and controlling one's temper; and Giving the Best of What You Have, on charity and serving others without expecting reward. What distinguishes her work is a light, narrative touch. Rather than delivering moral lessons directly, she lets character and incident carry the message, so young readers absorb Islamic manners and values through stories they can see themselves in. The books have become a familiar fixture in Muslim home and school libraries in Britain and beyond.
