Cemalnur Sargut

Cemalnur Sargut is a female Sufi teacher whose scholarship and spiritual leadership have earned her a loyal and active worldwide following, with a particularly strong presence in Turkey. Her career as a scholar and Sufi leader represents an important case study in the dynamics of contemporary global Sufism. Her major discourses and teachings have been delivered to students through the genre of oral instruction, collected through weekly interview sessions conducted by her disciples. 'O Humankind: Surah Ya-Sin' (FV Fontes Vitae, translated by Victoria Rowe Holbrook) is the first English-language text to bring together a selection of these oral discourses, making her distinctive voice accessible to a broader readership. Her work reflects a living tradition of Sufi teaching in the modern world.
