About
George Dardess is an ordained deacon in the Roman Catholic Church and an author of interfaith works based in Rochester, New York. He co-authored 'Reclaiming Beauty for the Good of the World: Muslim & Christian Creativity as Moral Power' (Fons Vitae, 2010) with his wife, the poet Peggy Rosenthal. The book explores how sacred arts in the Islamic and Christian traditions illuminate the divine and create space for interreligious dialogue. His engagement with Islam developed through his participation in a local Islamic center, where he began learning Arabic and building friendships with Muslim community members, which deepened following the events of September 2001. He is also the author of 'Meeting Islam: A Guide for Christians' and 'Do We Worship the Same God? Comparing the Bible and the Qur'an.' Both books reflect his sustained commitment to Muslim-Christian understanding.
