Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow is a passionate educator, anti-racism activist, wife, and mother based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a 2016 MuslimARC Muslim Anti-Racism AMEL Fellow, reflecting her sustained commitment to racial justice within Muslim communities. Her debut picture book, Mommy's Khimar (SS003), introduces young readers to Islamic identity and the beauty of the headscarf through a child's loving perspective on her mother. She lives in Philadelphia with her family.
