About
Karimah bint Dawood is a British Muslim author with an eclectic heritage combining Asian, African, Scottish and English roots. Prior to embracing Islam, she had a career in the fashion and beauty industry, working as a make-up artist for brands including Gucci and Revlon and for Bride magazine, while also traveling internationally as a fashion model. These experiences brought her into contact with diverse global cuisines and cultures, which became the foundation for her passion for world cooking. After her conversion to Islam, she redirected her energy toward Islamic family life and culinary writing. She drew on her extensive travels and multicultural background to compile 'Heavenly Bites: The Best of Muslim Home Cooking', a collection that brings together recipes rooted in the Muslim home-cooking traditions she encountered around the world.
