M. Zeki Kuscuoglu

Mehmet Zeki Kuscuoglu was born in Gaziantep, Turkey in 1943. He graduated from the State College of Applied Fine Arts and subsequently received a government grant for postgraduate studies in Germany in 1964. While conducting research in German museums and libraries, as well as those of other European countries, he developed a deep interest in Turkish, Islamic, and Eastern art. His specialty includes wood, stone, and metal arts. He has held exhibitions, published articles and books, and given seminars in which he presents both classical and modern interpretations of these art forms. He has published more than fourteen books in his field. His book Silver in Turkish Art reflects his longstanding expertise in the metalworking traditions of the Turkish and Islamic artistic heritage.
