About
Michael Sugich (Haroon Sugich) hafidhahullah is a contemporary American Muslim author and communications professional, native to Santa Barbara, California. He pursued his formal education at UCLA and the California Institute of the Arts. In 1972 he was initiated into a traditional Sufi order, an event that set the course for his spiritual and intellectual life. In the decades that followed, he studied Sufi doctrine and practice with spiritual masters across the Arab and Islamic world. Most notably, he lived for twenty-three years in the precincts of the sacred city of Makka, where he kept close company with many men of knowledge and illumination - an experience that forms the backbone of his book 'Signs on the Horizons: Meetings With Men of Knowledge and Illumination' (CS006). He has spent forty years as a professional writer and communications advisor, co-founding a successful public relations practice and advising corporate leaders, senior religious figures, and politicians. He has lived in London, Bristol, Cairo, and Dubai, and has resided in Istanbul. He is also the author of 'Palaces of India' (Pavilion Books), 'Living in Makkah' (Macdonald Publishers, a children's book), and 'Hearts Turn: Sinners, Seekers, Saints and the Road to Redemption' (CS012). He also produced a feature documentary on the life of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia, 'Faisal: Legacy of a King.'
