About
Moin Uddin Khan, sometimes given as Moin Uddin ibn Asad Khan, is a contemporary, UK-based teacher and author of Islamic books for children and families. He studied the traditional Islamic sciences under qualified scholars and holds ijaza (formal authorization) in ʿaqida, fiqh, hadith, tafsir, and related subjects. Active in higher Islamic education, he has been associated with the founding and leadership of an institute offering ʿalimiyya study alongside accredited qualifications.
Khan is best known for his "Just Like the Prophet" series, which presents the Sunna of the Prophet Muhammad in simple, child-friendly rhyming English. Each volume gathers forty prophetic traditions on a single theme of daily life, with titles including Eating Like the Prophet, Sleeping Like the Prophet, Walking Like the Prophet, and Speaking Like the Prophet. He conceived the series as a wholesome alternative to ordinary nursery rhymes, intending every line to convey a point of Sunna grounded in the Qurʾan or hadith, so that young readers absorb an Islamic identity through verse.
His other works include Life of Muhammad the Sublime, a short, chronological Sira told in poetic rhyme for accessible reading, and Prophetic Matrimony, a collection of forty hadith on marital harmony aimed at older readers. His books are sold widely through Islamic bookshops in the UK, North America, and beyond.
