Imam Muhammad al-Muntasir al-Kattani rahimahullah (1332-1419 AH / 1913-1998 CE) was a Moroccan scholar of hadith belonging to the distinguished Kattani family - a lineage tracing Hasani descent and renowned for generations of Islamic scholarship. His full name as preserved in the metafields, Muhammad al-Muntasir billah ibn Muhammad al-Zamzami al-Kattani al-Hasani, reflects both his Sufi Kattani lineage and his connection to the Zamzami scholarly tradition. His major work, al-Majalis al-Madaniyya fi Sharh Musnad Ahmad, is a thirteen-volume systematic commentary on Musnad Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal - representing a contemporary scholarly engagement with the largest and most comprehensive classical hadith collection. He passed away in 1419 AH / 1998 CE.
