About
Muhammad Alauddin Abideen was a Hanafi scholar who lived and worked in the intellectual tradition of his celebrated father, Allama Ibn Abideen (Muhammad Amin ibn Abideen, rahimahullah, d. 1252 AH/1836 CE), widely regarded as one of the greatest authorities on the Hanafi school of jurisprudence and author of the encyclopedic Radd al-Muhtar. Following in his father's scholarly footsteps, Muhammad Alauddin composed Al-Hadiyya Al-'Ala'iyya, a primer in Hanafi fiqh designed for students in the maktab (Islamic elementary school) setting. The work is notable as an early example of presenting Hanafi legal rulings in a structured, accessible, contemporary instructional format intended for young learners.
