About
Mawlana Muhammad Kalim al-Qadiri al-Azhari is a British Islamic scholar based in Bolton, United Kingdom, connected to the Qadiri Institute. He pursued advanced Islamic studies at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, earning the honorific al-Azhari and gaining a thorough grounding in Islamic jurisprudence, theology, and the Arabic language. Working firmly within the Sunni Hanafi-Qadiri tradition, he has dedicated considerable effort to making classical Islamic scholarship available to English-speaking audiences through accurate translation and annotation. His translation of the two-volume Sirat al-Mustafa by Shaykh Abd al-Mustafa al-Azami brings a detailed prophetic biography to English readers, while his translation of The Sacred Islamic Law (Qanun-i-Shariat) by Shaykh Shams al-Din Ahmad al-Hanafi addresses Islamic creed and Hanafi jurisprudence. He also translated In Light of Sacred Traditions of the Beloved, an English rendering of Anwar al-Hadith by Mufti Jalal al-Din Ahmad al-Qadiri al-Amjadi. As an author in his own right, he wrote Beliefs and Practices of the Ahl al-Sunna wa'l-Jama'a and co-compiled Essentials of Tajwid alongside Muhammad Husein al-Qadiri, both published through the Al Ihya Foundation.
