Shaykh Muhammad Salih al-Furfur rahimahullah (d. 1407/1986) was one of the foremost Hanafi jurists and erudite scholars of the Levant in the twentieth century. He was widely regarded as among the leading authorities of his era in the Islamic sciences, having taught at several seminaries of learning and mosques across the region. He authored numerous scholarly works spanning the full breadth of the Islamic disciplines. Among his most enduring contributions was his role as one of the founding members of the League of Scholars (Rabitat al-Ulama'), and his establishment in 1956 of al-Fath al-Islami Academy in Damascus - an institute that went on to produce generations of scholars and instructors who continued his legacy of traditional Islamic learning.
