Sayyid Muhammad Zarqani is a contemporary British Islamic scholar, author, and translator of sayyid lineage within the Jilani tradition. He is the son of Allama Sayyid Irfani Miya of Bolton and the grandson of the renowned Sadr al-Ulama, Imam al-Nahw Sayyid Ghulam Jilani Meruthi (born 1317 AH / 1893, died 1398 AH / 1978), who was celebrated as a supreme master of the Arabic language and earned the title Imam al-Nahw. Sayyid Zarqani received his traditional Islamic education through the Dars-e-Nizami syllabus under Mufti Aslam Bandyalvi and Mufti Fazil Bandyalvi in Bradford, before traveling to Cairo to study with Azhari scholars and deepen his grounding in the Islamic sciences. He is an instructor associated with The House of Wisdom in the United Kingdom. As an author, he compiled Al-Sarf al-Jilani, a textbook on Arabic word morphology aimed at English-speaking Dars-e-Nizami students, and Al-Mantiq al-Jilani: A Primer in Classical Logic, described as one of the first English-language introductions to classical Islamic logic designed for students following the Alimiyyah curriculum. As a translator, he rendered into English The Merit of Knowledge and Scholars, a translation of Fadl al-Ilm wa al-Ulama by Allama Naqi Ali Khan, and The Prohibition of Slandering the Leader of the Believers Mu'awiyah, a translation of al-Nahiyah by Shaykh Abd al-Aziz al-Pirharwi, both published by Sadr al-Ulama Publications.
