About
Mustafa Ameen rahimahullah (1914-1997) was one of Egypt's most prominent journalists and public intellectuals. He co-founded the Akhbar al-Yawm publishing group and its flagship newspaper, and was a prolific writer whose columns and books reached millions of Arabic readers over several decades. Despite his primary career in journalism, he made a lasting contribution to Arabic literary education through his collaboration with Ali al-Jarim on al-Balagha al-Wadiha, a systematic textbook covering the three branches of Arabic rhetoric - bayan, ma'ani, and badi'. The book became a standard curriculum text in schools and universities across the Arab world and continues to be widely taught.
