About
Nur Fadhilah Wahid is a Singaporean writer whose path to Islamic scholarship was marked by personal searching. Born and educated in Singapore, she relocated to Malaysia for her undergraduate studies. Alongside her formal education, she pursued traditional Islamic revealed knowledge, first spending a year at a traditional Islamic madrassah in Singapore, then traveling to Tarim, Yemen, to study at Dar az-Zahra. She has described her journey as a spiritual roller-coaster that began in 2010, reflecting the candor that characterizes her writing. Today she is based in Singapore, where she writes, designs, and takes part in Islamic collaborative projects. Her book Light Upon Light: a Reflection on Life, Love and God draws on this personal spiritual journey.
