Dr. Osman Umarji is a scholar of Islam and educational psychology whose work bridges classical Islamic learning and contemporary social science. He received his foundational Islamic training at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, and went on to earn his Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Irvine. He currently serves as Director of Survey Research and Evaluation at the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research, where he applies quantitative and qualitative methodologies to questions of Muslim identity, wellbeing, and religious practice. He is the author of children's literature that draws on Qur'anic narratives, including The Chronicles of Bani Israil series. He lives with his family in Southern California.
