Paul Hardy is a contemporary Islamic scholar whose academic formation spans England and the United States. He earned his BA and MA at Oxford University before completing a PhD in Islamic Thought at the University of Chicago. His teaching career has included positions at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London and at Hunter College of the City University of New York. His scholarly interests lie at the intersection of Islamic philosophy, Islamic extremism, and Muslim-Christian dialogue. In 2008 he was a member of the Muslim delegation at the 2nd Seminar of the Catholic-Muslim Forum, an initiative that arose from the 'A Common Word' letter addressed to Christian leaders. He is the author of 'Islam and the Race Question.'
