About
Rumaysah Sidat is a qualified teacher with ijazaat (formal scholarly certifications) in hadith, and has taught Islamic Sciences for over ten years. Together with her cousin Sophie Lunat, she co-authored The Clever Companions: Wonderful Women Around the Prophet ﷺ, a children's book bringing the stories of the remarkable women who surrounded the Prophet ﷺ to young readers. The book was inspired by the girls and boys in their extended family, and the two cousins hoped it would serve as a source of inspiration for children and their families. Rumaysah's grounding in the Islamic sciences and formal hadith training informs her approach to presenting classical Islamic figures for a contemporary young audience.
