About
Dr. Saadia Mian is a practicing endocrinologist based in Michigan, where she works full-time in clinical medicine. She holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Michigan and studied Arabic, Qur'an, and sacred knowledge in Syria. She received her Ijaza in the Hafs recitation from Shaykh Abu Hassan al-Kurdi and Shaykh Raji Krayyim, establishing her as a certified reciter of the Qur'an. Drawing on her own experience of completing Qur'an memorization alongside a demanding medical career, Dr. Mian authored The Crowning Venture: Inspiration from Women Who Have Memorized the Qur'an, a collection of twelve personal accounts showcasing women from diverse backgrounds who became hafizat. The book combines personal narratives with practical guidance and dispels common misconceptions about women's capacity for Qur'anic memorization. She subsequently produced The Crowning Venture: Planner and Journal to accompany the memorization journey, as well as a self-paced online memorization course of the same name.
