Dr. Salma Waly is a professor of education whose career spans more than fifteen years of teaching students across almost every continent, from children to adults to refugees. Committed to broadening educational access, she trains and supervises teachers and creates educational programs both in the United States and internationally. She is the founder of Universal Narratives, an education platform and podcast dedicated to amplifying the voices of global educators. Her children's book Maryam The New Yorker reflects her deep engagement with multiculturalism and her passion for representing diverse Muslim voices in literature. Dr. Waly lives in New York City with her family, where she and her household enjoy exploring different neighborhoods and learning about various cultures, foods, and languages.
