Scott F. Crider is Professor of English in the Constantin College of Liberal Arts at the University of Dallas, where he has been an award-winning teacher at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He earned his Ph.D. in English from the University of California, Riverside, in 1994. At the University of Dallas he led the Writing Program and the Seven Arts of Language Program for several years each and served as associate dean of Constantin College. His scholarly specializations are Shakespeare and rhetorical studies. He is the author of 'The Office of Assertion: An Art of Rhetoric for the Academic Essay' (ISI Books, 2005) and 'With What Persuasion: An Essay on Shakespeare and the Ethics of Rhetoric' (Peter Lang, 2009). His book 'The Art of Persuasion: Aristotle's Rhetoric for Everybody' was published as part of the Zaytuna Curriculum series, reflecting his commitment to classical rhetorical education within an Islamic liberal-arts context.
