About
Shoaib Saeed is the director of the Centre for Advanced Study of the Qur'an and its Interpretation (CASQI), an institution dedicated to advanced scholarly engagement with the Qur'an and its exegetical tradition. He completed undergraduate studies in philosophy at the University of Edinburgh, followed by training in Islamic theology at Al-Azhar University in Cairo. He then pursued doctoral research at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, specializing in Qur'anic studies. This combination of Western philosophical training, traditional Islamic theological formation, and rigorous academic research in Qur'anic sciences informs his scholarly and translation work, including his rendering of Imam Fakhr al-Din al-Razi's monumental Tafsir al-Kabir into English.
