About the author
Hossein Kamaly: Hossein Kamaly is Associate Professor of Islamic Studies at Hartford Seminary. A scholar of the Middle East specializing in the history of ideas, he previously held teaching positions at Barnard College and Columbia University. He is the author of 'God and Man in Tehran' and 'A History of Islam in 21 Women,' the latter a work that profiles influential Muslim women across fourteen centuries of Islamic civilization. His research bridges intellectual history and Islamic studies, drawing on both classical sources and modern scholarly frameworks.
