Afdal al-Salawat ala Sayyid al-Sadat is Imam Yusuf al-Nabhani's curated selection of the most-meritorious salawat upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) — those formulas to which the canonical hadith literature ascribes the greatest reward, those composed by the great Sunni masters across the centuries, and those that have entered into the standard devotional life of the Sunni community. Each salawat is presented with its scriptural anchor, its mode of recitation, and the traditional fadl ascribed to it.

About The Author

Imam Yusuf b. Ismail al-Nabhani (1265-1350 AH / 1849-1932 CE) was a Palestinian Hanafi judge in late-Ottoman Beirut who composed dozens of works in salawat, istighatha, manaqib, and theological defense of the traditional Sunni-Sufi heritage.

الإمام يوسف بن إسماعيل النبهاني (١٢٦٥-١٣٥٠ هـ) قاضٍ حنفيٌّ فلسطيني في بيروت العثمانية. صنَّف العشرات في الصلوات والاستغاثة والمناقب والدفاع العقدي.
