Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani: Imam Abu Bakr Abd al-Qahir b. Abd al-Rahman al-Jurjani rahimahullah (c. 400-471 AH / c. 1010-1078 CE) was a Persian-born scholar who became a towering figure in Arabic grammar and literary theory. He spent his scholarly life in Jurjan (present-day northern Iran) and studied under leading grammarians of his time. He authored al-Awamil al-Mia, a concise and widely-taught treatise that catalogues one hundred grammatical operators (awamil) in the Arabic language, which became a standard introductory text in the madrasa curriculum across the Islamic world. He is equally celebrated for Dala'il al-I'jaz and Asrar al-Balagha, groundbreaking works in Arabic rhetorical theory that remain seminal references in the science of balaghah.

Abi Bakr al-Shaykhi al-Daghistani is a contemporary Islamic manuscript editor working with Dar al-Minhaj, the Jeddah-based publisher known for producing critically edited Arabic classical texts. He has served as editor (muhaqqiq) on a range of classical Islamic works spanning hadith, morphology, grammar, and religious sciences. Among his editorial contributions is the Dar al-Minhaj edition of al-Arbaeen al-Nawawiyya, the celebrated collection of forty hadiths by Imam al-Nawawi, including both the standard and deluxe Mutahafi editions, as well as Tasrif al-Izzi, the essential Arabic morphology primer by Ibn al-Zanjani, and al-Awamil al-Mia by al-Jurjani, a classical text on Arabic grammatical operators.
