al-Fadail al-Muhammadiyya is Imam Yusuf al-Nabhani's compendium of the virtues and excellences of the Prophet (peace be upon him) — the canonical Sunni topos of fadail al-nabi: the unique 'favours God bestowed on the Prophet, the qualities of his character, the dignities of his lineage, his appearance, his manner, his life and his death. The work draws on the Quran, the canonical hadith, the classical sirah, the shamail literature, and the prophetic poetry of the Sunni masters, gathering them into a thematically organised meditation on the Beloved of Allah.

About The Author

Imam Yusuf b. Ismail al-Nabhani (1265-1350 AH / 1849-1932 CE) was a Palestinian Hanafi judge in late-Ottoman Beirut. The literature of fadail al-nabi was his lifelong literary passion, and he composed many works in the genre.

"الفضائل المحمدية" مَجْمَع الإمام النبهاني من فضائل النبي ﷺ وخصائصه — وهو الباب الكلاسيكي السنّي "فضائل النبي": ما اخْتَصَّ الله به نبيَّه ﷺ من المِنَن، وصفاتُ شمائله، وكرامةُ نَسَبه، وخِلْقَتُه، وعادتُه، وحياتُه ومماتُه. يَسْتَمِدّ الكتابُ من القرآن والصحيح من السنّة، والسيرة الكلاسيكية، وأدب الشمائل، والشعر النبوي السنّي، فيَجْمَعها في تأمّلٍ موضوعيٍّ مُنَظَّم في حبيب الله.

عن المؤلف

الإمام يوسف بن إسماعيل النبهاني (١٢٦٥-١٣٥٠ هـ) قاضٍ حنفيٌّ فلسطيني في بيروت العثمانية. كان أدبُ فضائل النبي ﷺ شَغَفه الأدبي الذي صَحَبَه طوال حياته.
