al-Mizan al-Adil li-Tamyiz al-Haqq min al-Batil is Shaykh Abd al-Qadir Isa's companion volume to his more famous Haqaiq an al-Tasawwuf — a balanced criterion for distinguishing truth from error in religious matters. Where Haqaiq defends the Sunni-Sufi tradition specifically, al-Mizan al-Adil addresses the broader methodological question of how a believer working within the Sunni framework should evaluate competing religious claims: the relative weight of Quran and Sunna, of the four imams and their followers, of consensus and analogy, and the boundaries between legitimate scholarly disagreement and innovation. The work is a quietly polemical defense of the classical Sunni hermeneutic against reformist alternatives.

Shaykh Abd al-Qadir Isa Diyab (1336-1411 AH / 1917-1991 CE) was a Syrian scholar of Aleppo and a Shadhili Sufi shaykh.
