About The Book

In such an unsheltered world, it may sound naive to suggest that this might be the moment to invoke and awaken brotherhood. Yet this is exactly the claim that this book seeks to explore. There is no shortage of books on Islam. Their focus is on the beliefs and rituals of the faith. However, certain classical themes such as brotherhood are often neglected.

One of Islam’s greatest blessings is its admirable success in creating robust and durable bonds of brotherhood between Muslims. You cannot find this kind of relationship in other religious traditions to the extent that Islam has achieved. It is a reality based on faith in God. “The believers indeed are brothers.” (49:10)

The Prophet ﷺ formed an alliance of brotherhood between the immigrants from Makkah and the Helpers of Madinah. The result was that a noble selfless desire to accommodate the other, in any case, was formed between them. The Prophet ﷺ said: “God said: ‘Those who love each other for My sake shall be upon platforms of light, and they will be admired by the prophets and the martyrs.”

Keeping this in mind, I have taught this concept to numerous students. This book is based on some of my classes on this theme. The lessons of brotherhood imparted here, if actioned, are sure to present endless blessings in both worlds, and awaken all that is noble in the human heart.
