About The Author

Salwah is a children’s book author, having previously self published two books, one being 'Alif Baa Ta' - an Arabic alphabet activity book. An avid bookworm from a young age: passionate about reading as a child; interested in writing as an adult - to inspire other young bookworms.

She lives in Cape Town with her husband, four children (and a tuxedo cat called Pepper) . Having children of her own inspired her to look into the world of Islamic books/writing as a means to help her children build a good Islamic identity.

She is a qualified City Planner and has also studied Creative Writing and Editing. She also sells her own small range of children’s Islamic educational jigsaw puzzles.

Salwah Isaacs-Johaadien: Salwah Isaacs-Johaadien is a children's book author based in Cape Town, South Africa, where she lives with her husband and four children. A qualified City Planner by profession, she has also studied Creative Writing and Editing. Her passion for reading since childhood and her desire to help her own children develop a strong Islamic identity drew her to the world of Islamic children's books. She has self-published two books, among them 'Alif Baa Ta,' an Arabic alphabet activity book. In addition to her writing, she produces and sells a small range of children's Islamic educational jigsaw puzzles. Her books for MeccaBooks include 'Come to Prayer' and 'Call to Hajj.'
