Umm Sulayman: Umm Sulayman is a British-Algerian illustrator and cartoonist who spent her formative years between the United Kingdom and the Arabian Gulf. She pursued higher education at the University of Nottingham, where she earned an MSc degree in Engineering. Alongside her technical training, she cultivated a deep interest in both Islamic learning and visual art. Drawing on these twin passions, she developed Islamic comics as a medium to share religious knowledge in a lighthearted and engaging format. Her most prominent work is Lala Comics: The Hilarious Encounters of a Muslim Woman Learning Her Religion, in which she uses humor and illustration to convey everyday experiences of a Muslim woman navigating her faith.
