Lataif al-Minan wa al-Akhlaq, better known as al-Minan al-Kubra, is Imam Abd al-Wahhab al-Sharani's spiritual autobiography — one of the most candid first-person accounts in the literature of Sunni Sufism. The work catalogues, in unembarrassed detail, the manifestations of divine favour the author experienced over his lifetime: openings of knowledge, encounters with saints living and deceased, moments of preservation from sin, kashf (unveiling), the visitations of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and much else. The text is at once a remarkable historical document of late-Mamluk Egyptian Sufism, a teaching tool for wayfarers, and a sustained meditation on gratitude for the divine 'minan' (graces) bestowed on the servant.

About The Author

Imam Abd al-Wahhab al-Sharani (898-973 AH / 1493-1565 CE) was one of the foremost Egyptian Sufi masters of the late Mamluk and early Ottoman periods. A jurist, hadith scholar, and Sufi shaykh, he founded a zawiya in Cairo that became a major center of Sufi learning.

عن المؤلف

الإمام عبد الوهاب الشعراني (٨٩٨-٩٧٣ هـ) من أعرز مشايخ الصوفية المصرية في عصري المماليك المتأخّرة والعثمانية المبكرة. أسّس زاويةً بالقاهرة صارت مَنارة للتعليم الصوفي.
