Manazil al-Sairin is Imam al-Harawi al-Ansari's classical exposition of the hundred stations of the spiritual path, grouped into ten ascending categories of ten stations each: the beginnings, the doors, the transactions, the manners, the foundational principles, the valleys, the states, the wilayas, the realities, and the goals. Each station receives a tight definitional paragraph and a three-grade exposition (for the general wayfarer, for the intermediate, and for the realised), compressing into a compact treatise what later works on the inner sciences would unfold across volumes.

The Manazil generated a long commentary tradition, foremost among them Ibn al-Qayyim's celebrated Madarij al-Salikin and the major Sufi commentary of al-Tilimsani. Read across the Sunni world from Khurasan to West Africa, it remains a central reference for serious study of the inner sciences.

About The Author

Imam Abu Ismail Abd Allah b. Muhammad al-Ansari al-Harawi (396-481 AH / 1006-1089 CE) was a Hanbali jurist, hadith master, and Sufi shaykh of Herat. Combining strict Hanbali doctrinal commitment with a deep mystical sensibility, his Munajat (the celebrated Persian intimate prayers) and his Arabic Manazil remain his lasting legacy.

"منازل السائرين" تَنْظيمٌ كلاسيكي للإمام الهروي الأنصاري لمائة منزلٍ من منازل السلوك، مجموعةً في عشرة أقسامٍ تتصاعد: البدايات، والأبواب، والمعاملات، والأخلاق، والأصول، والأودية، والأحوال، والولايات، والحقائق، والنهايات. لكلِّ منزلٍ تعريفٌ موجز ودرجاتٌ ثلاث (للعامّة، والوسط، والمُحقَّقين). أَوْجَزَ فيه ما تبسطه كتب الباطن لاحقاً في مجلَّدات.

عن المؤلف

الإمام أبو إسماعيل عبد الله بن محمد الهروي الأنصاري (٣٩٦-٤٨١ هـ) فقيه حنبلي ومحدِّث وشيخ صوفي من هَراة. جمع بين صرامة العقيدة الحنبلية والذوق الصوفي، وله "المناجاة" الفارسيّة المشهورة و"منازل السائرين" العربيّة، وعلى الأخيرة بنى ابن القيّم كتابَه "مدارج السالكين".
