Mukhtasar Sahih al-Bukhari — known by its full title al-Tajrid al-Sarih li-Ahadith al-Jami al-Sahih — is Imam al-Zubaydi's classical abridgement of Sahih al-Bukhari and the standard reading edition of Bukhari across the Sunni world for the past five centuries. The full Sahih contains 7,397 hadiths (with repetitions, which al-Bukhari includes when introducing the same hadith in different chapters for different fiqh-implications); al-Tajrid eliminates the repetitions and presents the approximately 2,230 unique hadiths in their canonical order. The result is a working single-volume edition of the most authoritative book in Sunni Islam after the Quran itself.

About The Author

Imam Ahmad b. Ahmad al-Zubaydi al-Sharji (893-944 AH / 1488-1538 CE) was a Yemeni hadith scholar of Zabid whose careful editorial work in al-Tajrid al-Sarih has made his name a permanent feature of every Sunni library.

مختصر صحيح البخاري — اسمُه الكامل "التجريد الصريح لأحاديث الجامع الصحيح" — تَجريدُ الإمام الزبيدي لِصحيح البخاري وطبعتُه القَرَائية الكلاسيكية في العالم السنّي طوال خمسة قرون. الصحيحُ كاملاً يَستوعب ٧٣٩٧ حديثاً بالمكرّر (يُكَرّر البخاري الحديث الواحد في أبوابٍ مختلفة لِما فيه من فوائد فقهية متعدّدة)؛ والتَّجْريد يُسْقِط المكرّرات ويُقَدِّم نحو ٢٢٣٠ حديثاً مُفْرَداً في ترتيبها المعتمد. وهو طبعةُ العمل المُلائمة لأَوْثَق كتابٍ في الإسلام السنّي بعد القرآن.

عن المؤلف

الإمام أحمد بن أحمد الزبيدي الشرجي (٨٩٣-٩٤٤ هـ) محدِّثٌ يمنيّ من زبيد، خَلَّد "التجريد الصريح" اسمَه في كلِّ مكتبة سنّية.
