Hajar Ashmawey: Hajar Ashmawey holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health/Counseling from Oakland University in Michigan, where she trained as a mental health professional. Currently residing in Dallas, Texas, she combines her professional background with a commitment to Islamic children's literature, authoring 'My First Surahs' (PRO066), a work designed to introduce young readers to foundational Qur'anic chapters.

Jenny Reynish: Jenny Reynish is a British artist and illustrator who works mainly in children's publishing, creating illustrations for publishers in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Based in the UK, she has developed an individual, decorative style worked in watercolor, gouache, oil, and linoprint. Her imagery is drawn from travel, the sea and landscape, birds, animals, angels, and dancers, and she has long been drawn to the colors and ornamental patterns of the Middle East and India, an affinity she traces to a Persian rug from Isfahan inherited from her aunt. Living and working by the sea, she finds much of her inspiration in coastal light and color. Within Islamic children's publishing she has illustrated a range of well-loved titles, among them A Gift from Jannah, The Quran: My Best Friend, My First Surahs, and Ten Muslim Heroes: Who Inspired the World, alongside picture books such as Jasmine in the Wind and Friends of a Different Kind. Her gentle, pattern-rich pages aim to make faith-centered stories inviting for young readers, pairing soft palettes with the decorative detail that has become a hallmark of her work. As a contemporary illustrator rather than an author or scholar, her contribution to these books lies in the visual world she builds around each text.
