Salawat al-Thana ala Sayyid al-Anbiya is Imam Yusuf al-Nabhani's compilation of salawat upon the Prophet (ﷺ) drawn together with the specific theme of praise (thana) — the formulas in which the believer joins the angels and the prophets and the messengers in praising the Beloved of God. The collection draws on the Quran, the rigorously-authenticated hadith, and the broader Sunni heritage of Prophetic salawat. Each formula is presented with its scriptural source and the traditional fadl ascribed to it.

About The Author

Imam Yusuf b. Ismail al-Nabhani (1265-1350 AH / 1849-1932 CE) was a Palestinian Hanafi judge in late-Ottoman Beirut and one of the most prolific defenders and propagators of the traditional Sunni-Sufi heritage in the age of rising reformist challenge. He composed dozens of works in salawat, istighatha, manaqib, and theological defense.

"صلوات الثناء على سيد الأنبياء" مجموعةُ الإمام النبهاني من الصلوات على النبي ﷺ التي جَمَعها تحت موضوع "الثناء" — تلك الصيغ التي يَشْتَرِك فيها المؤمنُ مع الملائكة والأنبياء والمرسلين في الثناء على حبيب الله. الكتابُ مُسْتَمَدٌّ من القرآن والصحيح من السنّة وتراث السنّة في الصلوات النبوية. لكلِّ صيغةٍ سندٌ نصّي وفَضْلٌ مأثور.

عن المؤلف

الإمام يوسف بن إسماعيل النبهاني (١٢٦٥-١٣٥٠ هـ) قاضٍ حنفيٌّ فلسطيني في بيروت العثمانية، أَفْنى حياته في الدفاع عن تراث السنّة والتصوّف ونَشْره في عصر التحدّيات الإصلاحية. صنَّف العشرات من المؤلَّفات في الصلوات والاستغاثة والمناقب والدفاع العقدي.
