About The Book
Sharh Dalail al-Khayrat is Shaykh Abd al-Majid al-Sharnubi's celebrated Azhari commentary on Dalail al-Khayrat — Imam Muhammad b. Sulayman al-Jazuli's collection of salawat upon the Prophet, the most widely-recited salawat compendium in the entire Sunni world. The Dalail itself, composed in mid-ninth century AH, organises some 200 distinct invocations into eight ahzab (sections), one for each day of the week (with Friday divided), and is the daily reading of millions of Sunnis across Africa, the Levant, the Indian Ocean rim, and Southeast Asia. al-Sharnubi's commentary works through each salawat, identifying its meaning, its scriptural anchor, and its inner discipline.
Among the standard companions for serious recitation of the Dalail, al-Sharnubi's commentary brings an Azhari rigour to its explanation while preserving the devotional warmth that has carried the matn across centuries.

About the author
Abd al-Majid al-Sharnubi al-Azhari: Shaykh Abd al-Majid ibn Ibrahim al-Sharnubi al-Azhari rahimahullah (d. 1348 AH / 1929 CE) was an Egyptian Shafii scholar affiliated with al-Azhar and a practitioner of the Shadhili path. Working in the classical commentary tradition, he produced two works that became widely used in the Sufi educational circuit. His commentary on Dalail al-Khayrat - the celebrated collection of prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ composed by Imam Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Jazuli in the mid-ninth century AH and arranged in eight sections for daily recitation throughout the week - takes each prayer and explains its textual roots, its transmitted merit, and the inward courtesy appropriate to its recitation. The Dalail is among the most recited texts in the Sunni world, particularly across Africa, the Levant, and the Indian Ocean littoral. Al-Sharnubi also wrote a concise commentary on the Hikam al-Ataiyya of Ibn Ata Allah al-Iskandari, the foundational aphoristic text of the Shadhili order, which has been adopted as one of the accessible and reliable commentaries on that work.
