Shifa al-Qalb al-Jarih bi-Sharh Burdat al-Madih is Shaykh Muhammad al-Tahir Ibn Ashur's commentary on al-Busiri's Burda — among the most recent additions to the long line of Burda commentaries, from the pen of one of the foremost Maliki scholars and tafsir masters of the twentieth century. Ibn Ashur brings to the Burda the philological precision he brought to his celebrated tafsir al-Tahrir wa al-Tanwir, working through each line with attention to its linguistic structure, its scriptural allusions, and the broader Maliki devotional reception of the ode.

About The Author

Shaykh Muhammad al-Tahir b. Ashur (1296-1393 AH / 1879-1973 CE) was the foremost Tunisian Maliki scholar of the twentieth century, longtime Shaykh of the Zaytuna University, and author of the celebrated 30-volume Quranic exegesis al-Tahrir wa al-Tanwir — one of the major works of modern Sunni tafsir. His Maqasid al-Sharia al-Islamiyya is among the foundational modern works on the objectives of Islamic law.

"شفاء القلب الجريح بشرح بردة المديح" شرحُ الشيخ محمد الطاهر بن عاشور على بُرْدَة البوصيري — من أحدث الإضافات إلى سلسلة شروح البردة الطويلة، من قَلَم أحد أكبر مالكية القرن العشرين ومُفَسِّريه. يأتي ابنُ عاشور إلى البردة بدِقَّة اللغة التي جاء بها إلى تفسيره "التحرير والتنوير"، فيَفُكّ كلَّ بيت بانتباهٍ إلى تَرْكيبه اللغوي، وإشاراته النصّية، والتقاليد المالكية الدعوية المتعلقة بالقصيدة.

عن المؤلف

الشيخ محمد الطاهر بن عاشور (١٢٩٦-١٣٩٣ هـ) إمام مالكية تونس في القرن العشرين، وشيخ جامع الزيتونة. صاحبُ "التحرير والتنوير" في تفسير القرآن في ثلاثين مجلداً — من أعظم تفاسير السنّة الحديثة. وله "مقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية" من المراجع التأسيسية في المقاصد الشرعية الحديثة.
