About The Book
The Qasidat ul-Burdat ul-Hasaniyya wa'l-Husainiyya is by the Lordly Imam and Gnostic, the Perfected Saint and Great Scholar, the Shaykh of Al-Azhar, Shaykh Salih al-Ja'fari (may Allah have mercy upon him), who passed away in 1979 C.E. He was from the descendants of Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (may Allah be pleased with him), and was the inheritor and the shaykh of the Idrisiyya Path which stems from the great Axial Saint, Imam Ahmad bin Idris (may Allah be pleased with him).
The Ode (Qasida) was written in honour of the Family of the Prophet, the Ahl al-Bayt (may Allah be pleased with them all). The Family of the Prophet have an honoured and exalted position within the Ummah. Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala), has obliged their love in the Qur'an (Sura al-Shura: 23), and they are included in the salutations sent upon the Prophet and hence they are mentioned in every ritual prayer that a believer performs.
The Prophet (Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa 'aalihi wa Sallam), counselled the Ummah towards the end of his blessed life to hold firmly on to two precious matters : the first was the Book of Allah, and the second were the Ahl al-Bayt (may Allah be pleased with them all).
This qasida is an expression of love, service, recognition and veneration, in seeking and requesting from the honour of the rank of the Ahl al-Bayt. It is an expression of the love and connection of Salih al-Ja'fari, rahimullah, towards the Ahl al-Bayt. Within it, he mentions the necessity of loving them, and venerating them. He mentions their virtues and confesses his inability to praise them as is their due. He had an intimate relationship with the Ahl al-Bayt, may Allah be pleased with them all, as manifested in many dreams, visions and miracles.
