About The Book
The Removal of Confusion (Kashif al-Ilbas) is a compendium of insights from the Muslim Sufi tradition concerning the path to realizing the experiential knowledge of God. This is the first English Translation of any major text of the Tijaniyya: one of the world's most vibrant and least-studied Sufi orders.
Founded by Shaykh Ahmad al-Tijani in the Maghrib in the late eighteenth century, this Sufi order has spread throughout sub-Saharan Africa and beyond. The Kashif al-Ilbas, a work which contributed to the spread of the Tijaniyya in twentieth-century West Africa, demonstrates the fruitful dialectic between Sufi traditions and the continued relevance of knowing God through the Sufi path.

About The Author
Shaykh al-Islam Ibrahim Niasse (d. 1975, Senegal), was one of the most successful propagators of Islam and Sufism in the modem world. Perhaps one hundred million Muslims - across Sudanic Africa and beyond - are affiliated to the Tijaniyya, and sometimes to Islam itself, as a result of the tireless efforts of Shaykh Ibrahim.
Known by his followers as the "Bring-er of the Flood' (Sahih al-Fayda) and the "Savior of the Age" (Ghawth al-Zaman), Shaykh Ibrahim's scholarly achievements and Islamic activism made him one of the most significant Muslim personalities in the twentieth century.
