About The Author
Jamal Orme grew up in Dorset, England, moving to London in his early twenties in the vague hope of a “better life” – albeit in somewhat less picturesque surroundings. There, in 2002, while working (far too hard) in London as a primary school teacher, he embraced Islam and greedily acquired an extra name: Jamal. (His mum still calls him James).
Educational roles have since taken Jamal to the UAE and to Saudi Arabia, where he currently resides with his wife and three children. In April 2010, Jamal hid away for a week in his poky, untidy office. When he eventually emerged, he had not become a butterfly, but had completed the manuscript of his first book, ‘The Victory Boys’.
