Kate Brittlebank: Kate Brittlebank is a historian widely recognized as a leading authority on Tipu Sultan, the eighteenth-century ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore. Her scholarly contributions to the field include the books Tipu Sultan's Search for Legitimacy and Islam and Kingship in a Hindu Domain, as well as several peer-reviewed articles on the Mysore ruler and his reign. She has held teaching and research positions at a number of Australian universities. Her biography Tiger: The Life of Tipu Sultan represents a synthesis of her sustained research into one of the most significant Muslim rulers in South Asian history.
