About
Abd al-Nasir Ahmad al-Malibari hafidhahullah is a contemporary South Indian Sunni scholar from the Malabar Coast of Kerala. He stands within the Ponnani tradition of Shafii scholarship, a lineage that traces its intellectual roots to the Hadrami-Yemeni Shafii teaching that has flourished in Kerala for several centuries and produced a continuous chain of scholars in the subcontinent. His scholarly work engages the defense of traditional Sunni belief and the honor of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ. His book Daf al-Shubuhat al-Muadiya an Wajh Sayyidina Muawiya is a systematic rebuttal of historical objections raised against Sayyiduna Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan radiyallahu anhu - the Companion, scribe of the Revelation, and founder of the Umayyad state - drawing on authentic hadith narrations, the consensus of Sunni imams, and the historical record to respond to criticisms found in modern Shia and secularist literature.
