Daf al-Shubuhat al-Muadiya an Wajh Sayyidina Muawiya is a contemporary defense of Sayyiduna Muawiya b. Abi Sufyan (Allah be pleased with him) — the Companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the scribe of revelation, and the founder of the Umayyad caliphate — against the hostile ahistorical attacks that have circulated against him in modern Shia, secular, and certain modernist literature. The work draws on the canonical hadith establishing Muawiya's faith and virtues, on the consensus of the Sunni imams in his defense, and on the historical record to refute the principal objections raised against him.

Abd al-Nasir Ahmad al-Malibari is a contemporary South Indian Sunni Shafii scholar from the Malabar Coast — heir of the Ponnani tradition of Hadrami-Yemeni Shafii teaching that has flourished in Kerala for centuries.
