About
Afshan Khan is a contemporary British Muslim counselor and author who writes on marriage, family life, and personal well-being from a Qurʾan- and Sunna-rooted perspective. Trained as an Islamic psychotherapist, NLP life coach, CBT therapist, youth mentor, and parenting and marriage counselor, she brings roughly thirty years of experience working with couples, families, and young people. Much of this work runs through Sukoon Healing, the practice she founded to provide Islamic psychotherapy and mediation services for Muslims, and she remains an active part of community life.

She is best known for her accessible "Secrets to..." series, written for ordinary readers rather than specialists. Secrets to a Successful Marriage, her most widely read title, gathers pre-marriage guidance, everyday advice for keeping affection alive, and tools for working through conflict with better communication. Companion volumes extend the approach to other relationships and to the self: Secrets to Surviving In-Laws, Secrets to Successful Families, and Secrets to Self Esteem: Rebuilding the YOU that Allah Created You To Be, along with a Secrets to Successful Habits journal. Across these books her method stays consistent, pairing real case studies with practical to-do lists and reflective exercises grounded in Islamic teaching. Her writing has found a steady readership among Muslim couples and families seeking calm, faith-centered guidance on the relationships that shape daily life.
