Sharh al-Aqida al-Wusta is Imam al-Sanusi's auto-commentary on al-Aqida al-Wusta — the middle-length text of the Sanusiyya series, sitting between al-Aqida al-Sughra (the universal primer) and al-Aqida al-Kubra (the comprehensive treatment). The Wusta expands the systematic treatment of the divine attributes, the questions of prophecy and the contents of the testimony of faith, and engages more deeply with the disputed positions of opposing schools. Suitable for the intermediate student who has mastered the Sughra but is not yet ready for the Kubra.

About The Author

Imam Abu Abd Allah Muhammad b. Yusuf al-Sanusi (832-895 AH / 1427-1490 CE) was a Tlemceni Maliki scholar whose creedal works became the standard aqida curriculum of the Maliki-Ashari world.
