Sharh al-Wazifa al-Zarruqiyya is Shaykh Ahmad al-Sajai's commentary on al-Wazifa al-Zarruqiyya — the daily devotional litany composed by Shaykh Ahmad Zarruq al-Fasi (d. 899 AH), the great Maghribi Shadhili master and reformer. The Wazifa itself integrates Quranic recitation, ayat al-kursi, the closing two verses of al-Baqara, the muawwidhat, salawat, istighfar, and tahlil into a single morning-and-evening practice. The commentary works through each segment, explaining its scriptural source, the fadl ascribed to it in the hadith, and the inner disciplines that should accompany the recitation.

Widely used in Egyptian Shadhili circles as a teaching companion alongside the practice of the wazifa itself.

About The Author

Shaykh Ahmad b. Ahmad al-Sajai (d. 1197 AH / 1783 CE) was an Egyptian Shafii grammarian and scholar of al-Azhar, prolific author of commentaries on classical Arabic linguistic and devotional matns. Beyond this work, his celebrated Hashiya on Sharh Ibn Aqil ala al-Alfiyya remains a standard reference in advanced Arabic grammar.

"شرح الوظيفة الزرّوقيّة" شرحُ الشيخ أحمد السجاعي على وَظيفة الشيخ أحمد زرّوق الفاسي (ت ٨٩٩ هـ) إمام الشاذلية المغاربة. تَجْمَع الوظيفةُ بين تلاوة القرآن، وآية الكرسي، وخاتمة البقرة، والمعوّذات، والصلوات، والاستغفار، والتهليل في ورد صباحي مَسائي. يَسْتَعْرض الشرحُ كلَّ فقرةٍ منها بِبَيان أصلها النصّي، والفضل الوارد فيها، وآدابِها الباطنة.

عن المؤلف

الشيخ أحمد بن أحمد السجاعي (ت ١١٩٧ هـ) فقيه شافعي ونحوي أزهري مصري، صاحبُ الشروح على المتون العربية والدعويّة الكلاسيكية. له "حاشيته على شرح ابن عقيل على الألفية" من المراجع المعتمدة في النحو المتقدّم.
